The Dill Seed essential oil is obtained from Anethum sowa (Indian Dill) a plant from the Umbelliferae (Apiaceae) family. Dill is an annual or biennial herb that grows up to 1 meter with green feathery leaves and umbels of small yellow flowers, followed by tiny compressed seeds. Dill has been used worldwide as an aromatic spice and a healing herb. The oil is mainly extracted from the plant's crushed seeds through steam distillation. Dill Seed oil blends well with black pepper, caraway, cinnamon, citrus oils, clove, elemi, nutmeg, peppermint, and spearmint.
